My Journey in Life...20 Nov 2008 11:02 am

Alhamdulillah! [Thank GOD!]
Another Milestone in the journey of aDvenTuReR aLi’s Life…
I had a Television  interview on last Friday dated14th November & it will be shown on TV On local Singapore Suria Channel via “F.Y.I. Show” on this Friday 21st November at 2030hrs…

Thanx for all the nice words & support received via emails, comments & text SMS…

I sincerely appreciate them.
Both Negative & positive feedbacks

Many friends have suggested me to write a book on my adventure…
Some even suggested me to set up Photo exhibitions or set up an adventurer Club…

Thanx!
I will definitely consider them :)

Honestly, my dream is to back pack the original Silk Road via Xian all the way to Europe via Turkey.

I have been parts of the Silk Rd in Turkey when I backpacked half the country in 2004.

But I want to take the highest elevated rail fm Beijing to Tibet, from Xian to Urumqi.
Crossing over the boundaries & explore the hidden beauties of the ex- Soviet Union bloc like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan etc.

Another dream is to explore the whole continent of South America from the Andes Mountains to the Great Antarctica.

Do you think I can get sponsors?

Will you buy my book on my trips?

Or attend my photo exhibition?

Will you sign up with me in my aDvenTuReR’s Club?

Will you view my webpage of all write ups for my Trips & Tips…?

I have started solo travelling at the tender age of 9…
Then my BeLoVed Mum would send me to Singapore’s Tanjung Pagar Railway Station & I will board the train alone for the long trip to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

My cousins & late Uncle would fetch me there.

Sometimes, I would visit my relatives in Malacca & Johor before proceed to KL.

Life is Beautiful…

Nope, I was NOT born with golden spoon or a metallic one.

Just a simple wooden spoon…

I went through a lot of hardship especially in 1989 when my BeLoVed Dad left us to meet HIM.

I was still studying in NUS [National University of Singapore] then & I had about 38 hrs of lecture/tutorials/ labs experiments stretching from Monday to half day on Saturday.

But I need to work.
In fact, I MUST work as I was the new breadwinner & need to support the family then.

Life was very tough…

I still remembered those days when I received my first pay cheque…
It was beautiful!

Life is Beautiful…

Hence, I love to suffer during my trips.
Prefer to stay with the locals or homestays.
Eat with them & rushed for the bus with them.

I remembered I took a 12hrs public crowded train from Shanghai to Anhui for a mountain climb of Mt Huangshan in 98 with my Big Haversack behind me.

I was all alone & my Chinese language was not that Great :)

Wow!
It was a miracle…

If you look at what you do Not have in life,
you don’t have Anything
If you look at what you have in life,
you have Everything…

What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there?
What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness?
What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow & you never got to tell them how you felt?
So, I just wanted to say,
even if I never talk to you again in my Life,
YOU are meant to me & YOU have made a difference in my Life…
I look up to YOU, respect YOU & truly cherish YOU…
Thanx for being there…

Life is Beautiful…

That is my slogan…
Some people call it aLi’s Trademark… :)
Hehehe

As I mentioned before I respect every individual regardless of race, language, religion, Nationality, sex, skin colour, age, marital status…

Life is too short to make enemies…
Everyone is my Friend regardless who you are…
I do not have any enemies here.
Life is too short but Beautiful to think about that…

TaLk To Me wHeN i’m BoReD,
bE THeRE FoR mE wHeN i’M SaD,
hUg Me WhEn i cRy,
cAre FoR Me WhEn I’M SiCk,
DuN eVa CrY fOr mE wHeN i Die,
JuS TrEasUre mE WhEn I’m StIiLL aLiVe…

In addition, I am not interested whether you are pretty or not…

To me,
You do NOT LoVe a woman
because she is beautiful..

She is Beautiful
because You LoVe her..

Life is Beautiful…
Just Do your Best, Let GOD Does the Rest…

Real beauty lies not in the physical appearance
but in the heart.

Real treasure lies not in what that can be seen
but what that cannot be seen.

Real LoVe lies not in what is done & known
but in what that is done but not known

Life is Beautiful…
Enjoy it to the Fullest & appreciate every minute with your LoVed ones if possible…
Have a Great Week ahead…

Life is Beautiful…
Take care &  GOD Bless…

Just me,
Bro aLi

Laughter is the Best Medicine19 Nov 2008 09:15 am

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University .
On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air.
The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully.
He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.
As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.
The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments.
Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled.
Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away.
Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenage son.
As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing.
The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down.
The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant.
Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure.
He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.
The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn’t the same elephant.

This is for all of my friends who send me those heart-warming bullshit stories… :)
